In November 2017, Rosendin Electric completed a full-floor Tenant Improvement project for Korean Airlines at the Wilshire Grand Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles, California and using Connectrac® on this job was a great experience.
From the beginning of the project we encountered two big challenges; the first one was working on the 11th floor and not having a typical floor layout in the building (the floor below is the 7th floor so there are approx. 30 ft. in between these two floors). For this reason, core drilling to use poke-thru’s was not an option, especially because at least half of the floor below was occupied and the other half was under construction.
The second challenge was that the building owner and the architect did not want any power poles through the space and that’s when we hit a dead-end. Luckily, one of our senior project managers here at Rosendin Electric told me about Connetrac – an awesome product that is cost effective, has a short lead time, and is easy to install. I know it’s hard to believe and/or sounds too good to be true, but you have to try it. I must admit I was skeptical at first, but now I highly recommend it.
The entire Connectrac team (design, business operations, and global care) went above and beyond to help me. I dealt directly with them from start to finish and everyone was always very nice and was able to get me what I needed in a timely manner.
I’ve been working on IT projects for the last 15 years and if I would have known about Connectrac beforehand, my life could have been a lot easier and for that reason I think core drilling and saw cutting should be things of the past.
Last but not least, I would like to mention that everyone involved on this project was very satisfied with the end result: the building owner, architect, engineer, general contractor and our electricians.
